RE: Freezing and resets

Not a Bug 2.8.4 2.8.5

I've got many hostile users anxious for the next fix.  I started looking into some of this...  remember I am just a novice ;)  ... but maybe something here makes sense?

plugin.js?t=J5CC:13 Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'remove' of null
    at CKEDITOR.plugins.ipsemoji.cancelEmoji (plugin.js?t=J5CC:13)
    at CKEDITOR.plugins.ipsemoji.listenForDestructEvent (plugin.js?t=J5CC:7)

looks like the remove function is being called twice on the submit text box... or something weird like that.  And it seems to happen after prolonged two-way conversations... something that wouldn't exhibit itself in basic testing.

i run babble on a few personal sites of mine, with groups of moderators who monitor it, so  it does get test outside of basic use. on average they have about 20 to 30 members at any given time chatting.

I have not seen this issue and when i asked the moderators and members on my other sites, they mentioned the issues that were 2.8.4, but they didn't seem to run into this one specifically.

keep me up to date, as i am curious what is causing it, cause it seems like the giving into demands to put the editor in has been a bad mistake.

I've installed 2.8.5 and hopefully it will do the trick....

I don't know what you experience with your sites, but I have a whole support thread filled with rants.  The two largest complaints being freezing/reset and viewing a profile kicking them out of chat.  So you "caved" to add an editor, but took away the ability to open a profile in a new tab?

If I were alone, I would get it, truly.... but I see emails from Invision and CodingJungle alike with users reporting the same thing, so I know I'm not alone.  If it's the editor, NIX IT!

not able to reproduce this one,  any additional information as to what you were doing before this would help out.

It is happening all the time on my chat but not on your babble...

I have reproduced several times on my chat, also with default skin .. ending a sentence with : and a ) (indicating a smiley), makes the page hang after the next time you try to enter anything...

Okay i got this fixed it will be in the next version. this is a bug with the ips emoji plugin for CKE. I've worked around it for now, but i can't reset the editor fully. so its in a "dirty state", which shouldn't effect much hopefully. I was able to reproduce this bug elsewhere in the suite, like status updates and the warn member form
