Michael
  • new user interfaces (yes that is plural)
  • chat bar (similar to comet chat)
  • Custom Commands: new ACP layout, with new features.
  • Aliases: redesign of its UI, sorta confusing in the ACP.
  • tabbed rooms: rooms will be tabbed, so you open them from a list, instead of leaving one room.
  • better notifications: hope to add better notifications, like mobile notifications like for iOS and android.
  • bots: will be making bots a bit easier to use.
  • much more...basically what ever comes to my mind or get suggestions on!

I love these new and improved feature list. The tabbed rooms, better notifications, and bot improvements are huge changes. I'm very excited and I know my members will love it.

Looking forward to 3.0.0!

Please no chat bar ... it's not how it should work.

Chat bar is OK to replace PM function but not for chatting ... my user hate the bar so we moved back from Cometchat to Babble.

Just a little suggestion (I've seen at one competitor). When a user start a line with "/" it should list all available commands. If the user then press "m" - all commands starting with m are listed...

One thing I would like to see, but not sure it's possible: I often have multiple tabs open, so I'll get a notification for every tab that I have open. I don't know if it's even possible, but wish only one notification would be sent regardless of how many tabs are open.

Chat bar sounds cool. If it's functional enough, would this be able to replace the in-line space that Babble takes, or would it be specific to whispers? I think I'd still like the dedicated space for Babble in-line for the global/public chat.

Any estimated time frame on V3 release?

Thank you

havent decided how i will do a chat bar :)

as for notifications, i don't think there is any communication going on between tabs. but i do believe browser storage is stored between them, so what i'll test out is storing the notifications ID into browser storage and having  it check to see if it exist already (but this might not work either, but we will see).

I'm hoping to beginning testing of it in the next few weeks, if you would like to be a tester of it i can add you to the beta group for babble (as the ones who will be testing will be the service trial folks).

regards,

Michael
