Argh... More issues

I hate reporting issues.... but 2.8.3 caused issues for me.  Two very distinct ones.

First, whisper completely stopped working.  Second, All the messages washed out.  You could not read the text unless you highlighted it with your mouse.  I used the support tool, reloaded my theme, even restarted the server.  All to no avail.  Finally, I just went back to 2.8.2 and it was okay again.

Could I perhaps have an old version of 2.8.3 or could something be interfereing?
