It seems the Popular and Featured are not dispaying due to caching issues. Periodically their contents will be null and only a recache of a menu item will restore these fields.

the save function will try to find content for these two, even going as far as ignoring the date range settings. the recache function for these two, will not. if it can't find anything with in the range of the dates/time, it will empty the cache. try loosening up the date/time restrictions. also having your tasks in the acp tied into a cron job of your server, also improves this feature.
